Maryland football will hire former Syracuse director of recruiting Eric White to serve in a "player personnel role," according to Football Scoop.
White seems a natural fit to fill the void left by Cory Robinson, who served as Maryland's director of player personnel for the 2015 season, his first with the team. Robinson left to become Toledo's cornerbacks coach in December, according to a report by SI's Thayer Evans.
He joined Syracuse's staff in 2013 after serving as assistant director of recruiting at Arkansas and Wisconsin. His biography on the team's website calls him "the driving force behind the Orange's recruiting efforts." While at Syracuse, White served under new Maryland defensive coordinator Scott Shafer, who was the team's head coach from 2013 to 2015.
This makes three reported coaching hires in the last three days, after reports that Maryland is bringing on Chris Beatty as wide receivers coach and Anthony Tucker as running backs coach.
None of these moves have been announced by the university, but Beatty and Tucker have already updated their Twitter biographies to say that they are coaches at Maryland.
