It looks like DJ Durkin has made yet another coaching hire, as Arkansas State running backs coach Anthony Tucker will take the same position at Maryland, according to Football Scoop.
Tucker has updated his Twitter biography to "Running Backs Coach - University of Maryland."
While at Arkansas State, Tucker worked under new Maryland offensive coordinator Walt Bell for two of his three years at the program. He served as the team's wide receivers coach in 2013 before moving to running backs coach for the past two seasons. Before then, he held positions with Idaho State and Colorado.
After playing wide receiver at Fresno State, Tucker signed with the New York Giants and later the St. Louis Rams before suffering a career-ending leg injury in 2002.
Terry Richardson served as Maryland's running backs coach in 2015, his first season with the team.
On Sunday, Sports Illustrated's Thayer Evans reported that Maryland was hiring Chris Beatty as its wide receivers coach. The school has yet to comment on either report.
