Profiles in Terpage continues today with Maryland's projected starting punter - Nathan Renfro. You know what is pretty depressing? Three and outs. And it felt like Maryland had a lot of those last season. But that means that your punter has some room to shine! And Nathan Renfro did pretty well last season, often setting up the defense for success.
Nathan Renfro, Junior, Punter, #18

247sports composite Ratings: Two stars, 38th-best punter in the nation, 41st-best player in Tennesee. Five stars by Chris Sailer punting, who had him as the sixth-best punter in the country
High School: Brentwood Academy, TN
Hometown: Brentwood, TN
High School Highlights:
How'd He Get to College Park?
Renfro was an all-state selection in Tennessee in 2010, averaging 39 yards per punt and placing 10 of 27 punts inside the 20 yard line. He also considered attending Northwestern, Harvard, and Central Michigan, and originally accepted a preferred walk-on spot at Florida State before flipping to the Terps.
Profiling the entire team
Nathan enrolled at Maryland in 2011 and took a redshirt season. Since then, he has started every single game for the Terrapins at punter. Between his redshirt freshman and sophomore seasons, his numbers improved across the board. He got a lot of experience last year - which, unfortunately, means Maryland was doing a lot of punting last year.
Nickname: The Brentwood Boomer
Career Highlight: 64 yard part against West Virginia last season. Punting 420 yards against FSU - wait, is that a highlight?
Dream Season:
Holds off the young upstart Shrader. Never has to see the field as Maryland never has to punt. Realistically? Gets his average up to 45 yards/kick and plants every one inside the 20.
2014 Prospectus:
Renfro is the prohibitive favorite to start, having beaten out Michael Tart the past 2 seasons. Renfro has been a very solid kicker and only looks to get better.
