Knight is the No. 179 safety in the class of 2016 and the No. 339 player in Florida, according to the 247Sports Composite.
Maryland just graduated both of its starting safeties, so while Knight probably won't see the field as a freshman, he'll have opportunities for playing time as he gets more experience.
He originally committed to Eastern Michigan, but flipped to the Terps after his official visit this past weekend. Knight also held offers from Chattanooga, Tennessee State and Prarie View A&M. That's not exactly the SEC, so DJ Durkin and defensive coordinator Scott Shafer will be hoping they've uncovered a diamond in the rough with Knight.
He'll join fellow freshman Floridians Antwaine Richardson Elijah and Elisha Daniels in Maryland's defensive backfield, where they'll have a chance to learn from another sunshine state native: senior All-Big Ten corner Will Likely.
