DeMatha's Tino Ellis is now a Maryland Terrapin, making his verbal commitment official by signing his National Letter of Intent Wednesday.

Ellis is the No. 52 wide receiver in the class of 2016 and the No. 9 player in Maryland, per the 247Sports Composite. He participated in the Under Armour All-America Game and the International Bowl in January.

He chose Maryland over Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Wake Forest and Rutgers in televised ceremony in July. He's Maryland's highest-rated wide receiver commit in the class of 2016.

The 6'1, 185-pound prospect should see some playing time at wide receiver right away, as Maryland's production at the position in 2015 wasn't great - although its unclear how much of the fault for that lies with the team's quarterbacks.

Ellis joins a young receiving corps at Maryland, as D.J. Moore made quite an impression as a freshman last season.
