Jaquan Yulee commits to Marshall: Maryland loses out on 4-star LB

Four-star Virginia linebacker Jaquan Yulee has committed to Marshall, he announced Friday.

Yulee was one of Maryland's top remaining targets, and his recruitment took on a renewed importance after Good Counsel (Md.) linebacker commit Keandre Jones flipped to Ohio State earlier this week.

The No. 9 inside linebacker in the class of 2016 and the No. 3 player in Virginia, Yulee committed to Alabama in June but re-opened his recruitment just two weeks ago. He officially visited Maryland on Saturday.

His commitment to Marshall is relatively surprising, given his 247 Sports Crystal Ball prediction looked like this on Friday morning.

He holds offers from Clemson, Florida, Florida State and Michigan State, among others schools. With Yulee off the board, DJ Durkin and his coaching staff will continue to focus on Aaron Hansford, another four-star linebacker out of St. John's College High School in D.C.

Maryland currently does not have a linebacker commit in the class of 2016.
