The Maryland men's basketball team couldn't keep up with Indiana on Sunday afternoon, and the Hoosiers cruised past the Terps in the Big Ten regular season finale for both teams. It was a somewhat embarrassing result for Maryland, which started on a 10-2 run and was subsequently outscored 78-52.
The Maryland Terrapins fall to Indiana Basketball.

The game was important for NCAA Tournament seeding purposes, certainly. But it wasn't relevant at all for either Maryland or Indiana's placement in the Big Ten standings. Indiana had already clinched the league title outright, while Maryland's fate remained to be determined by the outcome of Purdue's game against Wisconsin on Sunday evening. If the Badgers win that game, Maryland is the No. 4 seed. If the Boilermakers win, Maryland is No. 3.
Either way, the Terps will be back in Indiana later this week. The conference tournament starts in Indianapolis on Wednesday, and it starts for Maryland on Friday.
The Terps are backing into the postseason, and that's maybe the biggest problem of them all.
