Back on campus to watch his former team close out a close win over the Michigan Wolverines, former Maryland walk-on Jake Susskind joined Testudo Times to talk about where the Terps stand and the performances of some his past teammates.
Just a year removed from the program, Susskind is still very much in the loop about Terrapins basketball, and is still involved with group messages between the current team. He's no stranger to the recent struggles of point guard Melo Trimble.
"He's one of, if not the best point guard in the country, and people have been saying that the whole year," said Susskind. "There's a lot of pressure on him as well as the team. People expect a lot out of us. That might be getting to him, I'm not really sure. But he's a smart kid and a genuine kid and it's all going to work out in the end."
The Big Ten Player of the year candidate has three more regular season games to break out of a 7-for-38 slump from the field over his last four contests.
Also pictured is Susskind's "Love Day" shirt, a phrase that has caught on in College Park. He's trademarked the phrase and is selling apparel here. Ten percent of profits go towards breast and ovarian cancer organizations.
