The Maryland men's basketball team moved up to No. 4 in the latest AP Poll and No. 3 in the Coaches Poll, both released Monday afternoon. Last week, the Terrapins went 2-0, defeating previous No. 3 Iowa in College Park and beating Ohio State in Columbus on Sunday. The Terps were ranked No. 7 in last week's Coaches Poll and No. 8 in the Associated Press Top 25.

The Terps picked up a much needed signature win when they beat the Hawkeyes last Thursday at Xfinity Center. Iowa was previously undefeated in Big Ten play and dropped to No. 5 in the AP Poll and No. 7 in the Coaches Poll.

In the Big Ten, Michigan State moved up to No. 10 in both polls after defeating Northwestern and Rutgers last week. Purdue moved up to No. 18 in the AP and No. 16 in the Coaches Poll following a 2-0 performance last week. Indiana dropped to No. 22 in the AP and No. 21 in the Coaches Poll after losing to Wisconsin in overtime and defeating Minnesota by six at home on Saturday.  No other Big Ten teams were ranked in the polls.

North Carolina is No. 1 in the Coaches Poll, and Oklahoma is No. 1 in the AP Poll.
