ESPN bracketologist Joe Lunardi, who's recently pegged the Maryland basketball team as a No. 1 seed in this spring's NCAA Tournament, has the Terps as a No. 2 seed in his most recent projections .
Lunardi had Maryland as the East region's No. 1 seed in rankings dated Jan. 11, but they've fallen to a No. 2 slot in his new list, released on Twitter on Saturday:

The Big Ten has six teams in Lunardi's field, placing fourth behind the Pac-12, Big 12 and Big Ten.
By placing higher than than Michigan State in the Big Ten Tournament in March, the Terps would leapfrog the Spartans, and some of the the other teams ahead of Maryland come in conference pairs – Villanova and Xavier, Kansas and Oklahoma. So the Terps, by winning the Big Ten, still have a strong chance of moving up to a No. 1 seed
