In an 87-82 comeback victory, Team USA took home the bronze medal in Toronto.
Veteran Damien Wilkins and the American's scoring leader Bobby Brown led the late charge, combining for 37 points. The Dominicans lead for the first three quarters of the game, and by as many as 20, before Team USA got its offense going in the fourth.
This is Team USA's second consecutive bronze finish at the Pan-American games.
For Maryland's Melo Trimble, it was more of the same, as he struggled holding on to the ball again.
Overall Trimble had a very sub-par Pan-Am showing, but he was the youngest player on the US team, playing against a few international and NBA professional players in their prime.
The tournament was mostly a learning experience for the rising sophomore. He's gained a better understanding of where his game stands in a professional perspective, and what he needs to improve on heading into next season.
He'll look much more comfortable when November hits and he's back at Xfinity Center in College Park, leading what appears to be a top five team in the nation.
Melo finished the bronze medal game without scoring, grabbing two rebounds and dishing one assist, turning the ball over twice in just under nine minutes.
