Maryland men's basketball moved up to No. 4 in both the AP Top 25 and the Coaches Poll, both of which were released on Monday. The team moved up two spots in the AP and three in the Coaches Poll.
The Terps jumped ahead of Iowa State and Kentucky after both teams lost on Saturday. The Cyclones fell six spots in the AP to No. 11 and seven spots to No. 9 in the Coaches Poll after losing to Northern Iowa. The Wildcats fell eight spots in the to No. 12 AP and seven spots to No. 11 in the Coaches Poll after losing to Ohio State.
The Terps' only game in the past week was its second straight blowout victory, this one coming over Princeton by a score of 82 to 61.
Elsewhere in the Big Ten, Michigan State kept the top spot for the third straight week, and Purdue dropped five spots in each ranking, coming in at No. 14 in AP and No. 13 in the Coaches Poll after losing to Butler.
Maryland is also up to No. 14 in KenPom after starting the year at No. 24. The Terps will take on Marshall on Sunday in their last non-conference game before they start Big Ten play against Penn State on Dec. 30.
