Maryland basketball dominates with bursts from Jake Layman and Jaylen Brantley

On After the Buzzer, we discuss Jake Layman's harsh critics and the Terps' success in Baltimore.

Maryland took care of its second to last non-conference opponent of the season in an 82-61 victory over Princeton in its first trip to Baltimore in 16 years.

Senior Jake Layman scored a season-high 19 points to go along with 8 rebounds, bringing harsh Terps critics the game they've been waiting for from him. He hit 4 of 8 shots from deep and thrived against Princeton's zone, which focused keeping the ball out of the paint.

Junior college transfer Jaylen Brantley also had his break-out game of the year, doubling his career-high with 14 points, including a spurt of seven consecutive points to put the Terps up 23. His final take to the hoop made walk-on Andrew Terrell do this:

The team can now return home for the holidays to rest before one final non-conference game against Marshall on Dec. 27. Big Ten play begins on Dec. 30 as the Terrapins travel to University Park to take on the Penn State Nittany Lions.
