The Maryland men's basketball team has 10-to-1 odds to win the national championship this spring, according to odds released Friday by the sportsbook Bovada.
Maryland is in a tie with North Carolina as the third-likeliest team on the list to advance through the Final Four and win everything. Ahead of the Terrapins are Kentucky (7:1) and Duke (8:1).
The Terps' national title odds were pegged at 9:1 on May 21, just more than a week after former Duke guard Rasheed Sulaimon transferred into the program. Falling from 9:1 to 10:1 doesn't mean much, although it might make Maryland a slightly more attractive bet for those planning on making one.
Interestingly, the next-likeliest Big Ten team after Maryland to win the national championship is Michigan State, at 20:1. So the Terps are considered twice as likely to win the NCAA Tournament as any other team in their league. Michigan (25:1) and Indiana (40:1) follow the Terps and Spartans.
