Who did Maryland beat out? He had offers from Florida, Virginia and Georgia Tech and interest from Indiana, Missouri, SMU, TCU and Wichita State.

High School: Notre Dame Prep

Hometown: Springfield, Mass.

How'd He Get to College Park?

Brantley started his career at Marshall, but transferred to Odessa Community College without playing a game after his head coach Tom Herrion was fired. Last October he committed to transfer to Maryland where he will have three years of eligibility remaining.

Dream Season:

Brantley steps in as the perfect complement to Melo Trimble off the bench. He scores 5 or so points per outing, but thrives in the passing game, commanding Maryland's talented big men and wings. Brantley also allows Trimble to spend some time at the two-guard where he can catch-and-shoot threes when he's hot.

Next up is the team's unquestioned best dancer.
