MM 7.12: Maryland men’s basketball makes top 10 for Oral Roberts forward Kevin Obanor

Oral Roberts men’s basketball forward Kevin Obanor selected Maryland as one of his final 10 choices to transfer to.

Obanor averaged the second-most points per game for the Golden Eagles with 18.7 points per game. The Houston native also grabbed the most rebounds per game averaging 9.6 boards. Obanor had a season-high 39 points against Omaha on January 2 and a season-high 18 rebounds against North Dakota about a week later.

For the 2021-22 season, the Terps are adding freshmen Julian Reese and Ike Cornish as well as transfers Qudus Wahab, Simon Wright and Pavlo Dziuba to the forward positions. Rising junior Donta Scott played the forward and center position during the 2020-21 season.

The other team’s to make Obanor’s top 10 are Alabama, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Illinois, Florida, Arizona and Creighton.
