MM 5.4: Ayana Akli of Maryland women’s tennis named unanimous All-Big Ten selection

Maryland women’s tennis sophomore Ayana Akli was named a unanimous selection for the 2021 All-Big Ten team Monday.

Akli, who is currently ranked the No. 38 singles player in the country, finished the season with a record of 14-3 and stands as the highest-ranking Terp nationally, according to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

Maryland women’s tennis finished the 2021 season with a 3-16 record but finished on a strong note with two victories in the Big Ten tournament, including an upset of No. 5 seed Nebraska.
