Maryland volleyball’s Erika Pritchard was named to the 14-woman Preseason All-Big Ten team Wednesday.

This is the second preseason all-conference honor in three years for the senior outside hitter from Middletown, Maryland. Pritchard is the only player in Maryland volleyball history to pick up Big Ten preseason honors.

“I’m thrilled Erika received this preseason honor,” said Head Coach Adam Hughes, per a release. “It’s great recognition from the Big Ten coaches who recognize exceptional talent and we’re excited about what she will bring to the team with her skill and leadership in this unique spring season.”

Pritchard had a fantastic junior year, leading the team with 417 kills. She was also in the top-three for the Terps in aces and kills.

The season, which usually starts in late August, begins on Friday against Ohio State in Columbus. That will be the first of a 22-game Big Ten schedule.
