Maryland women’s lacrosse defender Emma Schettig is at it again, this time being named to the Inside Lacrosse All-Rookie team after a stellar six-game campaign in her first season in College Park.

This news comes after Schettig was given the honor as a Second Team All-American by Inside Lacrosse.

The freshman stud really turned heads through minimal exposure. She looked poised in her six games anchoring the defense alongside senior co-captain Meghan Doherty. Schettig compiled 17 ground balls and nine caused turnovers — both leading the team.

With Doherty opting to forego her sixth year of eligibility last week, Schettig will look to continue to ride her momentum and impress even further in her sophomore season.
