This is the Maryland Minute, a short story followed by a roundup of Terps-related news.

@TerpsWrestling

The NCAA announced the 48 at-large selections for the Division I wrestling championships, two of which are from the Maryland Wrestling program, Tuesday.

Despite underwhelming performances at the Big Ten Championships, 157-pounder Jahi Jones and 174-pounder Philip Spadafora were the two Terps who made the cut to compete in Minneapolis.

Jones’ record is 12-8 on the season, while Spadafora’s is set at 17-16, both of which are over .500, helping them reach a large part of the criteria.

This will be both wrestlers’ first appearance in the National Championships in their collegiate career. They will be the lone Maryland duo to represent the Terps this upcoming weekend.

National Championship brackets will be released Wednesday.
