Three former Maryland standouts were named to the MLS’ Team of the Week Monday. Donovan Pines and Chris Odoi-Atsem made the starting team, while Dayne St. Clair was awarded a bench position.
Pines, a defender for DC United, scored his first goal of his career earlier in the week. He then followed up that score with a wild strike against the FC Cincinnati.

Odoi-Atsem, who plays alongside Pines as a defender for DC, scored the first goal of his career late in the same game, propelling the team to a 2-1 win. His goal was especially powerful, as Odoi-Atsem battled through Stage 2 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in late-2018, leaving his career up in the air.
