Three former Maryland standouts were named to the MLS’ Team of the Week Monday. Donovan Pines and Chris Odoi-Atsem made the starting team, while Dayne St. Clair was awarded a bench position.

Pines, a defender for DC United, scored his first goal of his career earlier in the week. He then followed up that score with a wild strike against the FC Cincinnati.

Odoi-Atsem, who plays alongside Pines as a defender for DC, scored the first goal of his career late in the same game, propelling the team to a 2-1 win. His goal was especially powerful, as Odoi-Atsem battled through Stage 2 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in late-2018, leaving his career up in the air.

St. Clair, who was on a 290-minute streak without allowing a goal, made six saves for Minnesota United Sunday, including this insane dive.

The trio will try to continue their respective runs of form in the coming weeks as the MLS gears up for the playoffs, which begin on Nov. 8.
