It’s summer, so that means it‘s time for Maryland baseball players to compete in various collegiate baseball leagues.

As usual, there are a plethora of Terps in the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League. In fact, two former Terps are assistant coaches: Zach Morris for the Bethesda Big Train and Pat Hisle for the Gaithersburg Giants. There is also an increased number of Terps playing in the New England Collegiate Baseball League, while only one Maryland player is active in the Cape Cod Baseball League.

The table below shows where each Terp will be playing this summer. It’s not an official list, so there may be additions within the next few weeks as information comes in.

Here’s where Maryland baseball players are spending their summer.

“Class” refers to a player’s 2019 designation.

There are three new Terps on the list above who are transfers from other colleges: Zach Thompson (St. Mary’s College of Maryland), Nick Turnbull (Harford CC), and Tuck Tucker (New Mexico JC).

Taylor Blohm and Hunter Parsons are most likely being shut down for the summer, given the number of innings each pitched during the 2018 season.

This summer will be particularly valuable to the 2017 class, which was called on heavily during the 2018 season. It will give them the opportunity to hone their craft and have breakout sophomore years.
