Maryland volleyball announces plans to build a team suite and sweet new locker room

This is the Maryland Minute, a short story followed by a roundup of Terps-related news.

It looks like Terps football isn’t the only team getting a facilities upgrade.

Maryland volleyball announced plans for a new locker room and team suite, with construction on the locker room to start this fall.

The suite will be adjacent to the Xfinity Center and the team is expected to be able to move in before the 2018 season.

In the meantime, the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) preseason top 25 was released, and though the Terps didn’t make the cut, a large portion of their schedule did.

Their most notable out-of-conference opponent on the list is No. 3 Washington, who will face Maryland on Sept. 15 as part of the Maryland Challenge at the Xfinity Center.

Nine of the Terps' Big Ten foes also made the cut for the top 25, including four teams in the top 10.
