Thus far, Maryland baseball has been frequently touted as as the best team in the Big Ten by the likes of Baseball America, Perfect Game USA and D1 Baseball.
The conference’s coaches agree.
The Big Ten released its coaches’ poll Wednesday afternoon, and the No. 22 Terps are at the top.

Michigan is behind John Szefc’s club, followed by Nebraska, Indiana, Michigan St., Iowa and Minnesota in that order. In addition, the conference has also anointed Nick Dunn, Marty Costes and Kevin Smith as players to watch.
Maryland finished its season without an invite to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in four years last season after losing a record eight players to the 2015 MLB Draft. This year, the Terps appear to be reloaded and ready for a return to postseason play.
Here at Testudo Times, we have already previewed the Terps’ strong infield and outfield units, along with their deep pitching staff.
Maryland will begin its season in Clearwater, Fla. on Friday against Ball State in the first of three games of the Clearwater Tournament.
