Maryland field hockey’s postseason journey was extended on Sunday during the NCAA Field Hockey Selection Show.

Maryland will be facing No. 13 Wake Forest in their 23rd consecutive national tournament appearance, the longest current streak in the nation. The winner of Saturday’s game will face the winner between second-seeded Duke and Miami (OH) or Stanford. The Terps hold a 29-11 all-time series lead against the Demon Deacons.

Despite falling to Penn State in the semifinals of the Big Ten tournament, the Terps earned an at-large bid to the 18-team NCAA Tournament. They’ll start this weekend at Duke’s Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium in Durham, North Carolina.

Michigan, Penn State, and Northwestern were among the other Big Ten schools to earn tournament berths. The Nittany Lions are the closest conference rival to Maryland in the bracket, but both would have to make it to the Final Four for Maryland to face them for the third time this season.

The Terps’ first tournament game will be this Saturday, Nov. 11 at 2:00 pm.
