With a spot in the Elite Eight on the line, No. 2 seed Maryland women’s basketball aims to push past No. 6 seed Texas in the Sweet 16 on Sunday night.
Maryland’s 100-64 victory over No. 7 seed Alabama Wednesday marked the seventh time that the Terps have scored 100 points this season. Freshman forward Angel Reese led the Terrapins with 19 points with sophomore guard Faith Masonius following closely behind with 16 points. Sophomore guard Ashley Owusu led the team with eight assists.
Maryland and Texas have not faced one another since the second round of the 2014 NCAA Tournament. The Terps won that matchup, 69-64
The action is set to tip at 9 p.m. and will be televised on ESPN.
