Hoping to capitalize on the momentum from its past several games, Maryland women’s basketball aims to push past No. 15 seed Mount St. Mary’s in the first round of the 2021 NCAA women’s basketball tournament today.
The Terrapins, a No. 2 seed, last defeated Iowa, 104-84, in the Big Ten tournament championship on March 13. Sophomore guards Diamond Miller and Ashley Owusu helped the Terrapins capture the victory with seven assists each. Forward Chloe Bibby led the team with 21 points.
The Terrapins and Mountaineers have not faced one another since Dec. 6, 2017 at Xfinity Center. The meeting resulted in a 97-57 victory for Maryland.
The two squads are set for a 4 p.m. tipoff. All action will be televised on ESPN.
