Maryland women’s basketball has had its home matchup against Iowa rescheduled, the team announced Thursday.

The Terps will host the Hawkeyes on Feb. 23 at 1 p.m. in a matchup of the two top offenses in the Big Ten.

Iowa forced a postponement of the original Jan. 21 date as head coach Lisa Bulder was concerned about player safety due to President Joe Biden’s Inauguration on Jan. 20.

The Capital riots on Jan. 6 had heightened Bulder’s initial concerns, and while Maryland and head coach Brenda Frese attempted to explain how far College Park is from the National Mall, Bulder was persistent on not making the trip at that time.

Maryland now has four games in the final eight days of February and still has postponed contests against Ohio State, Rutgers and Michigan that have not been rescheduled.
