Maryland women’s basketball released its nonconference schedule Monday, and it features some tough competition.

Five of the Terps’ 11 slated opponents made the NCAA Tournament last season, though none made it past the Sweet Sixteen. Those teams include South Carolina, Qunnipac, NC State, Clemson and Belmont.

The best games on the schedule look to be South Carolina on Nov. 10 and NC State in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge on Dec. 5.

The Gamecocks are ranked No. 9 in ESPN’s preseason top 25 and the games between them and the Terps have been very competitive over the past two seasons. In the 2018 top-10 matchup, Maryland fell behind 18-6 in the first five minutes, but then went on a 26-1 run en route to an 85-61 victory in Columbia. The year before, the Terps came just short of a comeback, losing 94-86 at home.

As for NC State, the Wolfpack are ranked No. 25 by ESPN going into the season and the matchup brings back an old ACC rivalry. The last time the two teams faced was a hard one to swallow for the Terps, losing 74-60 in the second round of the 2018 NCAA Tournament to end their postseason run.

The schedule also features an appearance in the Daytona Beach Invitational, where Maryland will go up against Clemson on Nov. 29 and Belmont on Nov. 30.

Here is the full schedule.
