Even through a zoom call, Maryland football head coach Mike Locksley could tell how excited his players were when they found out the Big Ten was returning to play Wednesday.
Now the team knows who it will be playing, with the conference releasing its full 2020 football season schedule Saturday morning.
As stated in Wednesday’s release, every team in the league will play eight regular season games, as well as a ninth game during championship week in which teams from the East and West division will be matched up based on standings.
The Terps’ eight game slate will feature matchups against each opponent in the East division, with two crossover games against Northwestern and Minnesota from the West.
The season starts with a road matchup against Northwestern on Oct. 24, in which Maryland will look to add on to its 10-game win streak in season-openers. The team will have another game against a West opponent in its home opener on Oct. 31, facing No. 19 Minnesota.
