Tracking Maryland football’s undrafted free agents after the 2019 NFL Draft

Four Terps were drafted, and several more are about to find NFL destinations.

The 2019 NFL Draft was an exciting one for Maryland football, which had four players drafted over the course of the three-day event.

Darnell Savage Jr. headlined the draft class after being selected No. 21 overall by the Green Bay Packers, making it back-to-back seasons a Terrapin was picked in the first round. Then on Day 3, a trio of Terps heard their names called, as Byron Cowart, Ty Johnson and Derwin Gray went in the fifth, sixth and seventh rounds, respectively.

However, there are still a number of Maryland alumni waiting to begin their professional careers, and many of them could sign with a team in the next few days, if not as soon as the draft culminates. Among them is Tre Watson, who was expected to go in the fifth round or so, but shockingly fell off the board and went undrafted.

Here is the full list of Terps who could sign on with a team and potentially break through in minicamp to make an NFL roster. We’ll update as players find their eventual landing spots.
