The Testudo Times NFL Draft open thread

Follow along all weekend as Terps start their pro careers.

Josh Williams

It’s officially draft night.

The first round of the 2018 NFL Draft is about to begin. For the first time in years, Maryland should factor into tonight’s picture. Wide receiver DJ Moore (who has reportedly dropped the periods in his first name) is widely projected to hear his name called in the first 32 picks tonight. Where he ends up is still a mystery; that’s why we watch and follow along.

Cornerback JC Jackson is Maryland’s other big-name draft prospect. He’s almost certain not to be selected on Day 1, but could go off the board virtually any time Friday and shouldn’t last longer than early Saturday afternoon.

The Terps also have a handful of prospects who likely won’t be selected during the seven-round draft but should at least find themselves in someone’s camp this spring. Linebacker Jermaine Carter Jr., defensive linemen Kingsley Opara and Cavon Walker and safety Josh Woods are the strongest prospects of this group.

We’ll keep this space open all weekend for you to chat with your fellow Maryland fans about whatever draft-related subjects you deem necessary. As always, be respectful, and go Terps.
