Maryland football’s Week 11 matchup against Indiana will kick off at noon ET Saturday on the Big Ten Network. It’ll be the Terps’ eighth noon start in 10 games this season.
Alert | Our game vs. Maryland this Saturday will be a noon kick on BTN.

Maryland has been in the noon BTN slot three times this year, all at home. The Terps lost to Temple in Week 3, but bounced back to crush Minnesota the following week and Rutgers in Week 7. Maryland’s other BTN game was the 63-33 win over Illinois, which kicked off at 3:30, and the Terps are 3-4 in noon starts. Perhaps more notable than these trends, Maryland is still seeking its first Big Ten road win after losses to ranked Michigan and Iowa teams.
This, of course, is a monumental game for the Terps’ postseason chances. They’re 5-4 with three games left, but the two after this one are against Ohio State and Penn State, against whom Maryland is 0-6 the last three seasons, with only one close call mixed in. Maryland beat Indiana 42-39 in College Park last season.
In other news
The Michigan State game was bad. The numbers are ugly. It was ... actually a pretty normal script from this season, even in the most abnormal week.

But it wasn’t all bad for Maryland sports this weekend!
Men’s soccer avenged an earlier loss to Michigan State, walking off the Spartans in the Big Ten tournament.
Women’s basketball rolled to another exhibition win.
Volleyball beat Northwestern before falling to No. 4 Illinois.
And field hockey? Well, Maryland is your Big Ten field hockey champion.

And later last night, the Terps earned the No. 2 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament.
Happy Opening Week of Basketball Season! (Yeah, it snuck up on us too. Plenty of game and season preview coverage coming soon.)
