After a tough 24-3 home loss to No. 18 Michigan State, Maryland football has its second crack at securing bowl eligibility on Saturday against Indiana.
The Terps had 100 total yards of offense and 26 rushing yards against the Spartans and their top-ranked rushing defense. Indiana’s defense is not quite as good as Michigan State, as the Hoosiers give up just under 400 total yards of offense a game, including 162 rushing yards on average.
However, the Hoosiers also average 415.1 yards a game on offense, including 256 in the air. Indiana has given up 29.8 points per game, more than their average points scored, which favors the Terps despite the home-field advantage for Indiana as a slight favorite.
This game is a must-win for Maryland, as its next two contests are at home against No. 10 Ohio State and away at No. 20 Penn State and the Terps will be heavy underdogs in both.
The numbers
Maryland: 5-4 (3-3 Big Ten)
Indiana: 4-5 (1-5 Big Ten)
