Following a 34-7 romp over Rutgers during last weekend’s Homecoming game, Maryland football heads to Iowa for a real challenge. The Terps face the surprising No. 19 Iowa Hawkeyes, who sit at 5-1 but haven’t beaten a ranked team yet this season.
Maryland will be looking for its first road win over a ranked conference opponent since 2008. If the Terps want to earn an AP top 25 ranking, this would be a great resume-boosting win.
The Terps, who are 17th in rushing offense, face the challenge of going against Iowa’s No. 3 rushing defense. If Iowa’s defense lives up to its billing, Maryland may need to rely on Kasim Hill’s arm more than usual on Saturday.
College football fans across the country will get another look at the Terps as they play their third game on an ESPN/ABC national television station. Saturday’s game will air on ESPN2 at noon.
