This will end a streak of noon games for the Terps, who have played in that time slot for five of their six games this season and will play No. 19 Iowa at noon Saturday. Maryland’s only non-noon start was in Week 2 at Bowling Green, when the Terps and Falcons kicked off at 6 p.m. ET on ESPN+. That means this will be Maryland’s first 3:30 game of the season; the Terps had eight contests kick off at either 3:30 or 4 last year.
The Terps are currently 4-2 and received two votes in this week’s AP Poll. If they can knock off Iowa this weekend, they’ll return home with a chance to clinch bowl eligibility in this game. Illinois is currently 3-3 overall and 1-2 in the Big Ten, with its conference win coming over Rutgers. The Illini host No. 23 Wisconsin this weekend at noon.
