Maryland football started the season with a big road win over Texas, and will now kickoff its home slate of games against the Towson Tigers.
The home opener pits DJ Durkin against Towson alum and head coach Don Ambrose, who’s in his ninth season. Maryland has won the only meeting between these two teams, a 28-3 drubbing in 2011. The Terps have won 11 consecutive home openers, dating back to 2006.
Another win would put Maryland at 2-0 with 10 games remaining, and only four victories needed to secure bowl eligibility. It still won’t be easy, but the win over Texas certainly helped matters. True freshman Kasim Hill will be leading the way at quarterback for the foreseeable future, and this will be our first true taste of what he can bring to the field for extended game time.
