Quarvez Boulware is transferring from Maryland football, InsideMDSports’ Ahmed Ghafir is reporting. He is no longer listed on the team’s online roster.
Boulware committed to Maryland in the Class of 2015, and looked to be in contention for a starting spot as a redshirt sophomore. With left guard Mike Minter graduating and leaving the program, Boulware had a logical landing spot.
He made one start in his redshirt season in 2016, appearing in six games.
Boulware was a four-star recruit out of Friendship Academy in D.C., and was a headliner of Randy Edsall’s final full recruiting class as Maryland’s head coach. He’ll have to sit out a season wherever he ends up before exercising his three remaining years of eligibility.
Rising junior Sean Christie and rising redshirt freshman Richard Merritt could both be in contention to take his place. Incoming freshmen Marcus Minor, Jordan McNair and Johnny Jordan could be too, though the offensive line is one of the more difficult positions at which to start as a freshman.
