Maryland football coach DJ Durkin was in Baltimore on Wednesday night to throw out the first pitch at an Orioles game. Here is how this went, in visuals.
6:10 p.m. ET
Durkin grabs a baseball in the bowels of Camden Yards and begins to loosen up. He’s presumably seen what can happen when first-pitch honorees aren’t on target.

Durkin consorts with the Orioles’ social media team, preparing for his pitch.

Durkin appears to be gripping a slider there, doesn’t he? Kind of hard to tell. I’m pondering a thinkpiece on what Durkin’s pitch grip could mean for the future of Maryland’s recruiting in the Greater Baltimore area. Probably something profound.

Hey, that’s not bad!
Durkin throws a little bit high with considerable zip to Orioles reliever Mychal Givens, who is standing (squatting?) in as his catcher.

A nice wave beforehand.

Nice arm slot, honestly. Could work on establishing more of a downward plane.

Success.

Durkin is the third Maryland football personality to throw out an Orioles first pitch in recent years. Randy Edsall and Stefon Diggs have both made previous appearances.
