Former Maryland kicker Brad Craddock cut by Cleveland Browns

Good morning. It's the Maryland minute for Thursday, May 19, and we have some bad news.

Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

Brad Craddock became a fan-favorite by the time he won the Lou Groza award in 2014 as the nation's best kicker. The Cleveland Browns scooped him up as an undrafted free agent shortly after the NFL Draft concluded. But the former Maryland kicker will have to continue his NFL career elsewhere, as the Cleveland Browns released him Wednesday and claimed Jaden Oberkrom off waivers from the Jaguars.

We reported that the Browns picked him up more than two weeks ago, so this makes his run as a Brown quite short-lived.

His position as a kicker makes this whole experience unique, as there aren't a whole lot of teams out there looking for players at his position. Still, he's not out of the league yet. Another team can still come scoop him up, and with the NFL season still almost four months away, there's plenty of time for that to happen.
