Maryland football head coach DJ Durkin returns to The Big House on Saturday to face his former team Michigan. Durkin was the Wolverines’ defensive coordinator last season, a defense ranked fourth in the nation. This season, it will be quite the test for Maryland’s defense as the Terps look for their second straight win at Michigan Stadium, winning 23-16 in 2014.
This is a much different Michigan Brady Hoke’s 5-7 2014 team. Second in the country, with an 8-0 record, these Wolverines are incredibly hard to beat.
The Terps missed an opportunity against Indiana last weekend to become bowl-eligible. With three top-10 schools on Maryland’s schedule in the last four weeks, Maryland’s final game against Rutgers looks to be the best shot at win number six.
The numbers
Maryland: 5-3 (2-3 Big Ten)
Michigan: (8-0) (5-0 Big Ten)
All-time series: Michigan leads 4-1 over Maryland.
Odds: Michigan is favored by 31 points. 31!
