Maryland point guard Melo Trimble is one of the 10 members of the Preseason All-Big Ten basketball team that was announced by the conference Thursday.

This is Trimble’s second straight appearance on the conference’s preseason first team. He was the Big Ten’s Preseason Player of the Year last season, but didn’t quite play up to that billing.

Wisconsin’s Nigel Hayes holds that honor this year, and the senior is the only unanimous selection to the all-conference team. Badger teammates Bronson Koenig and Ethan Happ are on the team, as well.

DJ Durkin dropped some news in his Tuesday press conference. Linebacker Isaiah Davis is suspended for the Minnesota game for his late hit on Joey Julius, while running back Trey Edmunds has a foot fracture and will miss several weeks.

The Gophers will be short-handed, too, as quarterback Mitch Leidner is out for Saturday’s game.

Grad transfer wideout Teldrick Morgan is becoming an impact player on Maryland’s offense.

D’Qwell Jackson and Erin Henderson stood out among ex-Terps in the NFL this weekend.

Looks like former Terp (and former podcast guest) A.J. Francis has signed on with the Redskins.

Maryland Madness is Friday, and it’s been quietly understood for months that the event will be full of Running Man Challenge references. But Jaylen Brantley, Jared Nickens and Testudo appeared together in a promotional video Tuesday and all but confirmed this.

The craze started in the spring, became a big thing, and then was phased out like any other internet dance phenomenon. But because of its roots in College Park, the Terps are under extra pressure to capture this hypothetical title. We’ll be rooting for them.
