Maryland football officially signed three-star wide receiver Tai Felton Wednesday morning.

The Virginia native was one of the first commitments in the 2021 class, as head coach Mike Locksley and his staff showed a desire for him despite having torn his ACL as a junior.

Felton ranks as one of the top-150 receivers in the 2021 class and the No. 29 player out of Virginia. He held offers from Duke, Nebraska and Syracuse, among others.

At Stone Bridge High School, Felton showed off his speed and superior route-running as an underclassman and into his junior season. Despite tearing his ACL, Felton hasn’t lost his speed of quickness, something schools who had previously offered him were worried about.

Felton is the lone wide receiver in the Terp’s 2021 class, as the position group in College Park is already deep with young talent. He plans to enroll early and get a jump on his development now that he has returned from injury.
