Maryland football has officially gained another local prospect in the backfield with the signing of three-star running back Roman Hemby Wednesday
Hemby committed to the Terps on Aug. 16, choosing to join head coach Mike Locksley’s squad over the likes of NC State, Indiana and West Virginia, among others.
Hemby has a grade of 0.8194 and is ranked as the No. 45 player in the state of Maryland in the 2021 class, according to the 24/7Sports Composite rankings.
The 6’0, 195 pound running back showed plenty of offensive prowess with the ball in his hands in high school. Hemby excels at hitting the right gaps at the right time with a powerful amount of speed. He is a formidable pass-catcher out of the backfield and he’s able to slip his away out of the grasp of his defenders to gain huge chunks of yards.
The product out of John Carroll is one of 14 DMV recruits in the Class of 2021 for Locksley. The Terps have plenty of talent coming in from this recruiting class and Hemby is just another solid piece to the puzzle for the Maryland football program.
