The beginning of August marks the time of year where college football programs are first allowed to send out their official offers to the 2020 class, and we have fresh new designs for the Maryland offers in Mike Locksley’s first year at the helm.
Most of the Terps’ 2020 targets have been offered in some sort before now, and Locksley already has 15 commits for the class and just landed his first for 2021. Despite having offers and commitments on the table, recruits still get hyped seeing their first “official” official offer and happily shared a look on Twitter.
Here’s a look at the design and text on this year’s offer:

In other (mostly football) news
Aug. 1 also marked the opening of fall camp for the football team, meaning just 30 more days until gametime.

Speaking of football, it’s Defensive Backs Week here and former wide receiver converts and transfers Rayshad Lewis and Sean Savoy will both have a shot to make the nickel corner position theirs.
There won’t be clear skies for Maryland throwing the ball this season with these top defensive backs on its schedule.
Lila ran the numbers, and football has five teams ranked in the USA TODAY/Coaches preseason top 25 on its schedule this season. Maryland has just one nonconference opponent in the preseason rankings, but four of its conference challengers enter the season in the top 20.
Maryland football will play five ranked opponents this season. And the Big Ten is stacked with seven programs in the Top 25.
