Three-star offensive lineman Jordan White announced his decommitment from Maryland in the midst of the Terrapins losing to Ohio State on Saturday.
The DeMatha product – who ranks as the No. 27 prospect in the state of Maryland in 2020, according to the 247Sports composite – was the seventh-highest ranted commit in the Terrapins’ 2020 class and the third highest in-state pledge.
With all do respect to whom it may concern, my family and I believe that it is in my best interest to Open Up My Recruitment Process and Decommit from The University of Maryland to make sure that I am making the best decision for myself and my future.

No further questions please
White was the highest-ranked offensive line pledge that head coach Mike Locksley and his staff had, and could have stepped in to fill a position of need in College Park.
This isn’t the only hit to the class this week, as three-star Creekside High School (GA.) cornerback Rashad Battle announced his decommitment from the Terrapins on Wednesday:
This was not easy for me........ Respect My Decision

With both of these decommitments, Maryland now has the No. 50 recruiting class in the nation and stands at No. 11 in the Big Ten.
Locksley and his staff have been extending offers to a number of prospects over the pass few weeks, with the majority coming in at the offensive line, defensive line and defensive back positions and going to predominantly junior college prospects.
As the Terrapins stumble to finish the 2019 season, it has become apparent that personnel changes will come across the board as the next step in the rebuild.
With less than two months until the early-signing period for football, Maryland will need to hit the trail hard to try and fill its needs and/or convince prospects to keep the program in mind until National Signing Day in February.
