Ahmarean Brown commits to Maryland: Terps land 3-star WR

The Terps have their third pledge for the 2019 class.

Maryland football picked up its third verbal pledge of the 2019 class Saturday morning, as three-star wide receiver Ahmarean Brown announced his commitment.

Brown is the No. 79 prospect in Florida and the No. 70 wideout in his class, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s the latest in a recent string of Florida wide receivers to commit to the Terps, joining Jeshaun Jones from the 2018 class and MJ Jarrell the year prior.

Maryland has been hosting Brown since Thursday on an extended unofficial visit, and his commitment came less than two hours before the Terps’ spring game. DeMatha linemen Austin Fontaine and Evan Gregory announced their commitments on this day last year, and it’s possible Maryland isn’t done for the day.

Brown joins three-star athlete Lavonte Gater (who will most likely play cornerback in college) and three-star linebacker Kameron Blount in Maryland’s 2018 class. The group’s ranking is up to 43rd in the country, and with so much of the cycle still to come, that number should continue to rise.
