Happy National Signing Day! (Well, the early version, at least.)
For the second time, college football recruits can sign National Letters of Intent during a three-day window in December, and last year’s early period essentially acted as the main event of the recruiting cycle. Maryland in particular signed 22 prospects on Early Signing Day last year, one on the traditional signing day in February and one in the summer.
But this year, with Mike Locksley’s staff still taking shape and only 10 recruits even verbally committed, don’t expect the Terps to have a particularly busy day. Most of the drama in this recruiting cycle should come in January leading up to the traditional signing period. Much more on that here.
Still, there will be new additions, and Locksley will speak to reporters on a conference call in the afternoon. Stay tuned to this page for everything you need to know.

And a new one!
Three-star tight end Malik Jackson committed and signed with the Terps on Wednesday. He’s a flip from UConn, where he committed just last month. A Maryland offer hadn’t been publicly reported, but he’s now leaving Randy Edsall’s recruiting class and joining Mike Locksley’s.
