Future Maryland kicker Joseph Petrino is ridiculous

This is the Maryland Minute, a short story followed by a roundup of Terps-related news.

Three-star kicker Joseph Petrino committed to Maryland in July, and just like that, the Terps had their kicker of the future. There have been some pretty great place kickers to come through College Park over the years, and while Adam Greene and Mike Shinsky are serviceable, we’re not sure either of them can do this:

First of all, kicking one 60-yard field goal as a high schooler is impressive, with or without defenders. But then, he just casually walks up and hits a 50-yarder with his non-dominant foot.

Second, the music choice is exquisite. You don’t even have to actually like Lil Wayne’s “6 Foot 7 Foot.” Petrino is kicking field goals to a song whose chorus goes:

Six-foot, seven-foot, eight-foot bunch
Six-foot, seven-foot, eight-foot bunch

That’s too perfect.
