Daniel George is one of Maryland football’s top wide receiver prospects, and he has the Terps in his top 10. They join Penn State and Virginia Tech, among other teams.

George is a four-star prospect according to the 247Sports Composite, which ranks him as the No. 37 receiver in the country and the No. 8 player in Maryland for the Class of 2018. He’s a 6’1, 201-pound wideout who has the body of a pro prospect, and attends Oxon Hill High School, home of incoming Maryland freshmen Deon Jones and Tayon Fleet-Davis.
There’s still time for Maryland to make an impact in his recruitment, but George is considered a heavy Penn State lean. Each of the 10 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions has him headed there, and that’ll be tough for Maryland to overcome.
SB Nation spoke with George at D.C.’s The Opening recruiting camp last month:
As for where he’ll play in college, George’s got a few teams on the list.
“Wouldn’t say I have any favorites but Penn State, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Maryland, North Carolina, Kentucky, and Vanderbilt,” George said.
Although they are yet to offer, he’s waiting to hear more from Tennessee and Florida State.
There’s room in his heart for his hometown school, Maryland, as well.
“This is the home school, and just me knowing everybody there and me knowing a lot of connections,” George said. “I can have a good conversation with them and know it’ll be down there.”
But it appears Maryland will need to turn the tables on Penn State, among other schools, to land him.
